Web Cache charging policies

WEB CACHE SERVER'S LOCATION

Server established by ISP Server established by another organization
Abonament

internal nonmeasurable profit

clients nonmeasurable profit (agreement)

Billing internal nonmeasurable profit

measurable profit corelated to

traffic reduction

If the cache service is established by ISP for ISP and it's customers the profit remains for ISP only. Further discussion treats on charging for cache servers established by non-ISP organizations.

HOW IS THE TRAFFIC WITH WEB CACHE SERVER ENGAGED?

W3Cache server <-> client

W3cache server <-> parent

W3cache server -> neighbor

W3cache server <- neighbor

RED - traffic you should pay the bill for

BLUE - free traffic or the profit

Charging models

This model does not stimulate the development of service, because there is no need to reduce the costs. There is no possibility to fix the standards of amortization due to different hardware and software platforms used to establish the web cache.

The cost's category is only usable for cache administrators for internal purposes (cost balance).
